A Simple Golf Swing Lesson

Posted by Rob Jeffries

Golf is a sport of masters. It is a sport that requires a lot of patience, a lot of skill, and a lot of technique. If you are just starting to play golf then it is very important that you build good habits. If you start golfing without knowing what you are doing you can develop bad habits that can be hard to break. Here is a simple golf swing lesson that can correct your swing, or get you started in the right direction.

First, before you get on the course, take some time at the driving range. The driving range can be a great place for you to work on your game without any pressure. When you are at the driving range, here are some tips that you should use.

Before you start hitting the ball; take a couple of practice swings without the ball. Use different clubs and swing your arms back and forth to loosen up your arms, your back, and your shoulders. But you should also concentrate on your form when you are warming up. Make sure that you maintain a constant speed throughout your practice swings. Consistency is a very important aspect in any golf swing lesson

When you start to hit the ball make sure that you keep your swing consistent. Many people get over excited when they are actually hitting a ball. They will speed up their swing in order to hit it farther. Speeding up your swing will not help you hit the bar farther, hitting the ball correctly will.

Make sure that you keep your head down throughout your swing. One common mistake that beginners make is that they lift their head when they hit the ball. Make sure to keep your head down all the way through your back swing then you can look up and watch your ball flight.

Golf Swing Aids – Improving Your Swing

Golf Swing Aids – Improving Your Swing

It can take people a lifetime to perfect their golf swing. It is an intricate and complicated process that only a few people have truly mastered. If you are like most golfers, you might often get a kink in your swing. This can mean that you start slicing, topping, fading, or some other problem that may develop in your swing. Golf swing aids can help you to correct and improve some of these problems with your swing.

There are many different golf swing aids available that you can choose from. These technologies are consistently changing and improving so you need to stay up to date with all of the different golf swing aids available. Here are a couple of different products that can help you improve your game.

A very popular item is the weighted club. This product works much like a donut for a baseball bat. Baseball players use these weights to build the muscles they use when they swing. It also makes the bat feel lighter, and makes it easier to swing. The weighted golf clubs works the same way. Taking practice swings with a weighted club will build your muscles and make it easier to swing your normal club. This can give you more control, and more distance.

There is also a product that measures the speed of your club. This is very important to a well tuned swing. The goal is not to achieve the fastest speed possible; instead you want to use the speedometer to make sure that your club moves at a constant speed during every swing. A good tempo is imperative to a solidly hit ball.

There are also many videos available that can guide you through the many different strokes that exist in golf and there are golf swing aids that can help improve your game.

Help, I Need Golf Grip Tips!

Posted by Rob Jeffries

If you’re looking to improve your golf game, you might start at the one point where your body connects with the club—your grip. A good golfer becomes one with the club; the club and his body swing together as if they are a single well-oiled machine. A good grip, therefore, is critical to a good game. The following is a selection of golf grip tips that may prove helpful:

Establishing your grip.
Open your hand, palm-up, and lay the club across it diagonally so that the top-end of the club rests on the base of your little finger and the head-end of the club rests just before the top knuckle of your index finger.

Remember to hold the club in your fingers. Avoid the common problem of a weak lead hand.  Holding the club in the palm decreases the amount of wrist action available to you. And since wrist-hing is a source of power in your swing, gripping the club too much in your palm will cost you power and may lead you to slice the shot.

Great Golf Tips: Swing Away!

Posted by Rob Jeffries

Golf is great, and everyone is playing it—even Hollywood starlets. Not only can golf be a lot of fun, but it can also be an important way to make business connections and network with like-minded people. But in order for it to be either of these things, you have to be good at it. It’s not fun to come in dead last every time (it might make you want to give up entirely), and, worse, if you’re out playing golf with your boss or a prospective client or employer, a pathetic golf game may make you look bad. If you find that this sounds familiar, you should make a point to improve your game.

If you want to make golf a part of your life, or you already have and you feel like you could improve your game, you’re in a great position to benefit from golf tips: swing away!

Stance. A good stance is critical to your game. Many experts describe a good stance as balancing ninety percent of your weight on your left foot, and ten percent on your right toe.     Don’t be afraid to get the right toe of your shoe dirty—if you’re distributing your weight right, a dirty right toe is a sign of this. Keep this weight distribution in mind and your game will  improve immensely. In fact, for many amateurs this is one of the most helpful golf tips.

Swing. Of all golf tips, swing may be the most important. Try to remember that golf is not a game for the wrists. If you want to hit the ball far, you will have to use the more powerful muscles in your legs and torso. Try and use your whole body when you swing.

Flexibility. A good golf swing requires that you rotate from your trunk. This takes considerable  flexibility of the muscles around your trunk. You can practice and improve this flexibility by stretching regularly; if you’re really tight, you might even consider taking yoga, pilates, or another form of exercise devoted to increasing flexibility. You may think that yoga has nothing to do with golf, but you’d be surprised the extent to which more flexibility can help your golf game.
