Using Golf Swing Training Aids

Posted by Rob Jeffries

Every golfer is going to run into trouble with their swings. There are many different aspects that go into the proper technique of a swing. It is very easy to let one of those things go awry, and ruin your whole swing. The stroke of a golf club only works when all aspects are in sync. If you feel like something is off with your stroke, you can use golf swing training aids to get back on track.

There are many different golf swing training aids that you can use. These can help you with your speed, your strength, your accuracy. They can correct your form, your stance, and your grip. Finding the right golf swing training aid can make all the different in your swing. Here are some of the most popular golf tools that you can use.

Many people find that a weighted club is a very useful tool. A weighted club isn’t to be used while your playing golf, but when you are warming up. This club has a weighted head, so when you swing you work on all of the muscles that are needed for hitting a golf ball. They will work on your arms, your shoulders, your chest, back, waist, and legs. When you put down the weighted club and pick up your normal club it will feel lighter, and easier to handle. This can give you greater accuracy and distance.

Another useful tool is to swing a club using a speedometer. These small meters are designed specifically to track the speed of your swing. This isn’t supposed to make you swing faster, but instead it is to help you maintain a consistent speed. Use this when you are practicing, but also when you are playing. Many people change the speed of their swing when they play. They want to swing powerfully and speedily to give the ball more distance. The problem is that a hurried swing usually leads to a ball in the woods.

How Does Golf Swing Tempo Affect My Game?

Posted by Rob Jeffries

There are just so many parts of the game of golf that it is impossible to list them all. In fact, just in the swing alone, there are many different aspects that must be dealt with every time you play. Of course, you know that your balance and core strength are at the center of your swing – they are what keep that club swinging straight and with power. They are primarily responsible for your golf swing tempo

Tempo is a very important aspect of the golf swing, especially when you are swinging the longer clubs like your woods or driver. The timing in the golf swing has to be particularly precise or you will hit the ball badly – or not at all! This is one very good reason why you should work on your golf swing tempo to improve your overall game.

It is hard to describe tempo, but you certainly know it when you feel it. It is that combination of everything working at just the right time. Your hips turning, your shoulders turning, your head down, and your hands coming through to the target – all of it happening at just the right time. When it doesn’t happen in the right order, or the tempo is off, disaster can strike.

There are several hints and tips that can help you get your golf swing tempo into a nice rhythm. Some teachers will tell you to swing lower on the backswing, while others will tell you to power through the ball. The key is to find tips that work for you. When you are actually swinging that club, though, you don’t want to be thinking about anything other than making contact. Too much thought on one aspect of your swing can make the rest of your body forget about all the other things that it should be doing.

The Basics of Golf Stretching

Posted by Rob Jeffries

3152920607_0a43dc6c15As you are preparing for a golf game it is important to stretch the muscles that you will be using to play the game with.  First jog or walk for 10 to 15 minutes to get started.  Then you should make sure your neck and shoulder muscles are warmed up.  You can do this by turning your head to the left side and holding it for a few seconds.  Then move it to the right and hold.  Move you head down so that your chin is almost on your chest.  Now roll your head a full turn to the left and a full turn to the right.

Next stretch your left arm over your right shoulder like you are trying to scratch the middle of your back.  Then repeat this with your right are over your left shoulder.  Now fold your fingers from both hands together behind you.  Stretch your arms out as far as you can.  This will help to stretch your shoulders and loosen your arms.

Improve Your Game With Golf Swing Instructions

Posted by Rob Jeffries

558923573_7355afbee3Do you wish you could advance to a higher level of skill on the golf course.  When you get together with friends on the course it would be nice to be able to gradually improve your score.  Golf swing instructions might be the answer.  So many people just don’t seem to be able to develop a good swing.  You can hire a professional and get golf swing instructions.  You will have someone watching who can critique your swing and give you pointers on how to improve.

Everybody wants to have the perfect golf swing.  It is one of the most difficult parts of the game.  Many people never get good.  To begin with, if you get professional golf swing instructions, you will learn to begin your swing from a static position.  This is difficult for some people.  Sort of rock back and forth to get off to a good start.  Be sure that when you start your backswing you sweep your club head low to the ground.  A low deep backswing will allow you to focus more easily. Many beginners are quick and jerk the club back and then are not able to prepare mentally for the follow through.

The Best Backswing Golf Moves

Posted by Rob Jeffries

3631172465_c000401373A good backswing golf move is one that gives power and control to the golfer.  When you start your backswing, the club should sweep low to the ground and then up. Be sure not to lose your balance. Don’t just quickly jerk the club up in the air.  Slow and smooth is the best characteristic of a good backswing.  You will shift your weight onto your back leg and feel like a coil.  The downswing is just your body naturally unwinding and the head of your club swinging through the ball.  During the backswing keep your back leg bent.  Do not stand straight.

Obviously, the best backswing golf move is one that gets the ball to the intended target.  It must have accuracy as well as velocity.  Each time you swing the club you should try to repeat the same swing over and over.  This helps you develop a routine to your swing.  As you develop over time this will help you maintain consistency.
