Do Online Golf Lessons Really Work?

Posted by Rob Jeffries

Do Online Golf Lessons Really Work?

In the past ten years, all of us have started doing a lot more online. We bank online, we take classes online, and we do a lot of our holiday shopping online. We have started to trust the Internet, e-commerce, and most of the information that we receive online. The good news is that you can also take online golf lessons, which will not only save you a ton of money, but will make learning golf a lot easier.

If you have never heard of taking lessons online, then you won’t believe the advances that have been made the past couple of years. You can now get virtually the same golf lessons on the Internet that you can on any golf course, given by a real pro golfer.

Online golf lessons take several different forms. Some of them are videos, showing instruction from professional golfers. They are usually very specific in what they are teaching. For example, they wouldn’t give a lesson on “the swing”, but rather on the back swing, or getting the slice out of your driver, or how to hit out of the rough. By creating lessons that are specific like this, you will have much more success in learning what you need to learn.

Some online golf lessons are interactive. The instructors will allow you to email or post online a video of your swing and they can evaluate what you are doing. They may see a little something that can easily be fixed, or they may suggest particular drills that would work for you.

Whichever type of lessons you take, they will be worth it, and they will also save you quite a bit of money over the cost of lessons by your local golf pro – not to mention that you can take the lessons right at home!

Will a Golf Swing Training Aid Help My Game?

Posted by Rob Jeffries

Will a Golf Swing Training Aid Help My Game?

There comes a time in every golfer’s life when they give up the game because they just can’t stand playing poorly any more. For most golfers, this happens at least once every round! The unreliability of their game, the unpredictability of the course, and the randomness of it all is enough to make even the most accomplished golfer throw his or her clubs in the nearest water hazard.

When this happens to you, you have a choice to make. Do you want to get better and more reliable, or do you want to give in and give up? Most of us, because of our love for golf, realize that it is better to spend a little money and a lot of time to find ways to get better. One way that many people choose is by using a golf swing training aid to help them find their swing again.

You can purchase many training aids that are meant solely to help you drive longer, but remember that the drive is only a part of your game. In fact, during any average round, you may only use that driver a dozen times (or less). You will, however, have an iron and a putter in your hand at least once every hole, and most holes more often. So, when you are choosing a golf swing training aid, keep that in mind.

Not all training aids are actual, physical items that you can buy in a store. Some of the best golf swing training aids, in fact, are ones that you read about or see in action. You can buy videos and ebooks online that will save you a lot of money and still allow you to improve your game. And, you can do it in the comfort of your home without embarrassing yourself out on the range.

How Does Golf Swing Tempo Affect My Game?

Posted by Rob Jeffries

There are just so many parts of the game of golf that it is impossible to list them all. In fact, just in the swing alone, there are many different aspects that must be dealt with every time you play. Of course, you know that your balance and core strength are at the center of your swing – they are what keep that club swinging straight and with power. They are primarily responsible for your golf swing tempo

Tempo is a very important aspect of the golf swing, especially when you are swinging the longer clubs like your woods or driver. The timing in the golf swing has to be particularly precise or you will hit the ball badly – or not at all! This is one very good reason why you should work on your golf swing tempo to improve your overall game.

It is hard to describe tempo, but you certainly know it when you feel it. It is that combination of everything working at just the right time. Your hips turning, your shoulders turning, your head down, and your hands coming through to the target – all of it happening at just the right time. When it doesn’t happen in the right order, or the tempo is off, disaster can strike.

There are several hints and tips that can help you get your golf swing tempo into a nice rhythm. Some teachers will tell you to swing lower on the backswing, while others will tell you to power through the ball. The key is to find tips that work for you. When you are actually swinging that club, though, you don’t want to be thinking about anything other than making contact. Too much thought on one aspect of your swing can make the rest of your body forget about all the other things that it should be doing.

Why Is My Golf Swing Speed Important?

Posted by Rob Jeffries

Because golf is in many ways a man’s sport, there is a certain macho aspect to it. Men appreciate other men who hit the ball long and hard and straight and don’t really pay much attention to the players who use finesse and guile to get the ball in the hole. They think better of a player who drives 300 yards than they do someone who shoots 70. That’s just the way it is.

If you want to be one of the guys who drives it 300 yards, then you have to increase your golf swing speed – there is just no way about it. But, that doesn’t mean that you have to go in hyper-mode throughout your entire swing. If you watch any of the pro golfers, their backswing is not fast, it is slow and deliberate, but they accelerate through the swing at such a speed that you can hear the club whip through the air. When you watch their swing in slow motion, you can actually see their club arcing, as the force bends the shaft.

Your golf swing speed in part determines the flight of your ball. However, that doesn’t mean that the guy with the fastest swing will hit it the furthest! There is much more to it than that. You have to be able to make perfect contact with the ball, hitting it on the sweet spot and making contact with just the right part of the club. Any variation and you will not be successful.

Golf swing speed can be measured in most of the larger sporting goods stores. They will be able to measure your swing speed at the fastest point, which should be just when you make contact. From that information, you should be able to determine the type of shafts and balls you should play.

Golf Swing Physics

Posted by Rob Jeffries

Knowing the physics of a golf swing is a very important part of the overall game. Improving your swing by just ten percent can result in the difference between a good or a bad game for you. What is so important to get right with your swing?

Most golfers could do with some improvement on their swing. In most cases, the problems that become part of your golf swing creep up over the years as a result of picking up some bad habits.

When you are just starting out in golf, you usually know how to swing better as the instructions or lessons are still fresh in mind. You process each and every motion of the swing through in your mind before you physically execute it. As you continue to play the game though, this thought process will often get replaced for a desire for more power in the swing.

Fixing the golf swing physics in your swing might be as simple as going back to when you first learned how to play in the first place. Think about each and every single motion that your body makes before you swing might slow you down a little bit. However, by doing this, you could also result in having a more accurate and powerful swing.

Take some time to book a lesson with your local golf instructor. It might be expensive, but it is a good starting point in improving your game.

It is important to remember that when thinking about your golf swing physics, it is a great idea to go back to the basics, if only for a little while. This will help you know the fundamentals of the game so that you can better analyze your swing and come out with a better one than ever before.
