You should do these golf stretches just like you would do regular exercise. In otherwords do them regularly. You will definitely want to do them before and maybe even after a golf game.
First of all walk for a bit or do some aerobic type exercise like jogging for about 10 to 15 minutes. Next in order to stretch your neck, turn your head all the way to the left and hold it for 15 seconds. Then turn it to the right and hold for 15 seconds. Stretch so that your chin is on your chest and hold for 15 seconds. Look straight and bend your head towards your left shoulder and hold to 15 seconds. Repeat this on the right side.
Next reach your right hand around your left shoulder and touch the center of your back with your fingers. Hold this of 15 seconds. Repeat this with your left hand. Put both hands behind your back and join them together. Hold your hands away from you body for a few seconds.
The next stretching exercise is to loosen up your wrists. Hold you right arm straight out. Bend you wrist as far back as you can towards your arm. Turn your arm over and bend your wrist up as far as you can towards the inside of your arm. Repeat this with your arm and wrist. Next hold your arms straight up above your head. Hold your hands together. Stretch as far as you can to the right and hold. Repeat towards the left.
Next stand with your feet shoulder width apart and bend over as far as you can and try to touch your toes. Hold this position. Now stand up straight with your arms out to the sides. Turn your waist as far to the left as possible and hold. Repeat on the right side. Now put your left foot up on a bench and bend forward grabbing hold of your foot. Repeat on the right side. Stand straight and bend your left leg at the knee so that your heel is touching your buttocks and hold. Repeat with the right leg. Finally stand with your right foot about 18 inches in front of your left and lean forward stretching the back of your legs. Repeat this by alternating feet.
You should repeat these exercises 3 or 4 times. This will help you loosen up so that you are more relaxed when you start your game and it will help to prevent injuries from the game.
