If you don’t use a proper golf grip, then don’t expect your swing to be proper. And without a proper swing, you simply cannot improve your game. Here are the steps to improve your grasp of the situation:
1. Position your hands. Use your right hand to hold the golfing club’s top. Meanwhile, your left hand should hang normally from your shoulder, and down the club gripping material’s side. Turn the left hand somewhat inwards, towards your leg.
2. Position your left hand. To achieve a proper golf grip, move the left hand adjacent to the hold of the club. The shaft should extend from your palm’s meaty section, diagonally in a descending direction. Furthermore, it should extend about ¼ inches from your pinky’s base, through your second finger’s center joint.
3. Close the left hand’s fingers. This will allow you to create a flawless golfing grasp. However, it’s important not to grasp the club too firmly. Grasp it as you would a tube of toothpaste. In other words—firm enough to grasp it, without allowing the toothpaste to escape.
4. Position the thumb over the gripping material’s top. It should be slightly to the right of the middle, from your perspective. Avoid pushing the thumb of your left hand too far down the gripping material. Doing that would prevent the thumb from correctly supporting the golfing club at the backswing’s top. That’s a bad thing!
5. Position the right hand. Next, place the club into the right hand’s fingers. The thumb and second finger should create a trigger surrounding the gripping material. Place the pinky of your right hand into the channel that the left hand’s first and second fingers have created.
