Once bitten by the golf bug, few golfers ever escape and we spend our entire lives trying to improve our game. By keeping fit and playing every day, we are more likely to develop a regular, quality swing and a reliable overall game. However, few of us have the luxury of playing every day, and more and more of us aren’t as fit as we could or should be. So, finding shortcuts to a better game is sometimes very important.
One way to get on the fast track to a better and more reliable golf swing is to employ one of many different types of golf aids. There are hundreds of golf aids on the market – some of them work and some of them don’t. Of course, never believe the hype, and remember that no single golf swing training aid will help every problem.
The first place to start looking for a golf swing training aid is your local used sporting goods store. If you see a golf swing training aid in the store and there are plenty in stock, then it probably isn’t that great. One sign of a bad piece of golf equipment is when it turns up, in abundance, in a used sporting goods store.
Spend a few hours watching the Golf Channel, or even ESPN when it switches over to infomercials and you will see the variety of golf swing training aids. There are aids to help a slice, help a putt, your short game, your sand game, your pitch and your chip. Before investing in any of these pieces of equipment, do your research online and make sure that what you are buying is well-built and really works. Don’t forget that by correcting one problem, you may be creating another!
